Pimentel Tower: Like many coastal towns, Torremolinos needed to defend itself from attacks from the sea dating right back to medieval times. That’s why this watchtower was built in 1300, and surprisingly it’s still in rather good condition today. You can climb the stairs to the top to take in fantastic views across the whole of Torremolinos. The Spanish locals are so proud of the tower it’s often used as a symbol for the town.

Crocodile Park: An amazing (if slightly scary) zoo where you can get very close to lots of huge crocodiles! The zoo’s workers are excellent – they take you on a tour through the park and are even brave enough to walk through the crocodile enclosures! There’s an interesting museum about the history and biology of these fascinating creatures, and at the end of the tour you also have the chance to hold a small crocodile yourself. Children are sure to be fascinated by this zoo, making it ideal for family holidays to Torremolinos.

El Ranchito: These clean and well-equipped stables are a must for all horse lovers of their holidays in Torremolinos. The Spanish are some of the best horse riders in the world, and it’s here you’ll get to see a wonderful weekly dressage show with horses dancing and jumping in amazing ways.

Aqualand Torremolinos: This fun water park has lots of fun, colourful rides with exciting names like kamikaze and the black hole – a real slice of fun for family holidays to Torremolinos. Luckily it’s not all about shooting down the slides though; there are also calmer attractions like the Jacuzzi and the gentle wave simulator too.

Beaches in Torremolinos


La Carihuela beach: The stretch of coastline along Torremolinos is famed for being very wide, allowing you lots of room to stretch out and sunbathe on your holidays. On this factor La Carihuela doesn’t disappoint , as it’s open plains afford you plenty of space even during the summer holidays.

Playamar beach: Just to the east of the centre of Torremolinos, this is one of the most popular beaches for tourists on holidays here. Perhaps it’s thanks to the intensely bright golden sand and its calm shallow waters. Bajondillo beach: At just over 1km in length and over 50m in width, Bajondillo gives you plenty of beach to play with! As it’s another very popular beach it’s also well-facilitated with showers, toilets, hammocks and a play area for children on family holidays. Out to sea there’s a variety of water sports on offer too, with everything from diving to windsurfing available.

Restaurants in Torremolinos


Bodegas Quitapenas: Many restaurants in Torremolinos cater to British tastes on holidays here, but if you fancy having an authentic taste of Spain, you’ll do well to head for this restaurant. It serves a large variety of traditional tapas with (mainly fish based) dishes such as fried octopus, calamari, and scallop skewers.

La Piazetta Ristorante Italiano: The decor of this contemporary Italian restaurant is incredibly stylish, with square white leather chairs and vibrantly coloured jacquard walls. Luckily, the food matches up to the elegant surroundings and you’ll enjoy the classic Italian dishes which have been given a creative modern twist.

Fig & Olive: An excellent restaurant to choose if you fancy a little taste of home whilst on your holidays in Torremolinos. The British food cooked here is of a very high standard, with all the fresh ingredients sourced locally. They often host entertainment events so you can enjoy a fun show whilst you’re eating hearty steak pies and all-day breakfasts.

Nightlife in Torremolinos


British bars and clubs: Torremolinos Holidays have become quite renowned for frenetic nightlife, with many clubs staying open till as late (or early) as 9am in the morning. Being principally a tourist resort built around British holidays, it’s good to know that much of the music you’ll be listening to will also be British too. Some of the larger clubs attract some big name DJs from the world of dance, and many people travel from all over Spain to see them here on their holidays.

Av Palma de Mallorca is one of the streets where all the action is, a shopping haven by day it transforms into party central at night with two major clubs The Palladium and Fun Beach both based around here. The Palladium has an amazing lighting and sound system, but be warned – it doesn’t even open until 3am! Fun Beach is famed for being very informal, as the staff wear swimwear so clubbers are encouraged to do the same! On top of these two highlights we’d also recommend the unusually decorated Pipers and the traditional Taberna Pepe Lopez, which plays Latin rhythms for flamenco dancing shows.

Shopping in Torremolinos


All on one street: Calle San Miguel is undoubtedly the best place to go if you want to spend some time enjoying your shopping on your Torremolinos holidays! This pedestrianized street has independent shops selling locally produced items such as Spanish wine, olive oil and crafted leather goods. You’ll also come across a few international labels like Mango and Zara, but for a truly unique shopping experience just head north from San Miguel. You’ll arrive at the famous market here which sells an unusual combination of items, you’ll see bric-a-brac stalls interspersed with antique stalls and cheap clothes alongside fresh produce – truly a heady mix!
