Natural wonders: Soller holidays are very close to the Tramuntana Mountain Range which sprawls across the north-west of Majorca. No matter where you go for your holidays in Majorca, it’s well worth your time to make a visit to Soller and take in all of the breathtaking scenery.
Traditional village: Certainly offering some of the quietest holidays in Majorca, Soller is seemingly untouched by time, but then that’s part of the attraction. There are even Victorian-style trams which run through the hilly town to save the strain on your legs.
Activities in Soller
Alfabia Gardens: The lush Alfabia Gardens are just a short walk from the centre of Soller. Here for hundreds of years since the island’s occupation by the Moors, they are a natural oasis of peace and beauty. Water features, fountains and sculptures intersperse with palms, vibrant flowers and sweet-smelling fruit trees. What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon during your holidays in Soller!
Tramuntana Mountain Range: Aside from that, if you have holidays in Soller you simply must visit the Tramutuna Moutain range. It’s a huge expanse of rocky hills and countryside that has been a favourite of dedicated ramblers for years. Don’t worry if you don’t feel you’re up to speed when it comes to walking, there are a range of trails to suit all abilities.
Beaches in Soller
Port de Soller: There’s a small part of this beach which is soft and sandy, and obviously that attracts the most visitors. Unfortunately the rest is rather narrow and covered in shingle. The mountainous background off in the distance is majestic though.
Platja d’en Repic: A narrow beach with a steep incline towards the sea. Thankfully, there’s a plentiful amount of soft golden sand and huge exotic palm trees.
Restaurants in Soller
Luna 36: Rustic Majorca food stylishly presented. At night the restaurant looks extremely romantic, lit up almost entirely by the warm glow of candle lights – perfect for couples on holidays in Soller.
Es Raco des Port: In a wonderful location, overlooking the harbour and on a gentle hill where the famous Soller tram passes by. But its main attraction lies in the food – generous helpings of traditional tapas dishes and fresh, just-caught fish.
La Vila restaurant: Although part of La Vila Hotel, you can still enjoy this restaurant if you’re not having your holidays there. Delicious modern cuisine like saffron tagliatelle and fillet steak in raspberry sauce make this an incredible eating experience that you must try on your holidays to Soller.
