All Inclusive Holidays

Puerto Banus, Costa del Sol

Cheap all inclusive holidays to Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus Overview

Exclusive holidays: Puerto Banus 2019 holidays are the glamorous extension of Marbella holidays. Principally, it is a glitzy harbour filled with shiny yachts, Ferraris and their mega-rich owners on their holidays! With all this money floating around, naturally the area tends to attract celebrities too, such as Mick Jagger, Kate Moss and Sean Connery. The marina was built in 1970 by Jose Banus, a property developer and local resident who wanted to improve the experience of holidays in Marbella.

Stylish shopping: There’s also a large mall (named Centro Comerical Marina Banus) which has all the upmarket brands you’d expect, to suit the super-rich people who shop here.

Attractions in Puerto Banus

Dali’s Rhinoceros: This 3-ton metal rhinoceros looks out to the glistening Mediterranean Sea. It was created by the famous surrealist artist Salvador Dali in 1956, and is well worth a look and a few snaps during your holidays in Puerto Banus. In gaudy bright green and adorned with lace, it’s a truly unique outdoor sculpture that’s worth thousands of pounds.

Activities in Puerto Banus

Aloha Golf Club: This championship-level 18-hole golf course near Puerto Banus has hosted several major tournaments, most notably the Andalucía Open in 2007 and 2008. It’s an impressive course with narrow, meandering fairways, perfectly trimmed greens and white sand bunkers. And it’s a real delight to see the dusky brown peaks of the mountain range off in the distance as you hit a drive down the fairway!

Beaches in Puerto Banus

Nueva Andalucia: This 1.3km long cluster of four coves is very centrally located right by the marina of Puerto Banus. The rocky headlands which jut out into the water keep the waves very calm and the dusky gold sand is pleasantly soft, making this a comfortable and convenient place to spend your holidays sunbathing.

Rio Verde Beach: The next beach along after Nueva Andalucia, Rio Verde has a much calmer atmosphere than many of the other beaches in Puerto Banus and Marbella. It’s largely less busy because it lacks a wide choice of bars and restaurants, but that’s of little concern if you bring your own food!

Playa del Rodeo: A quiet little beach with soft golden sand leading to gently lapping blue waves. The beach bars here are excellent, serving up tasty barbecued meat and healthy salad options.

Restaurants in Puerto Banus

Garum: This sleek, stylish restaurant perfectly captures the ethos of Puerto Banus holidays. The menu is all about creativity, putting inspired twists on European dishes. Expect to see delightful ideas like curry soup with banana and coconut, salmon with lavender crust, and lemongrass and ginger pannacotta.

Sensations Sushi: A spotlessly clean black and white decor – just the sort of place that’s perfect for the modern, refined purity of sushi. Sensations Sushi is considered to be one of the best restaurants in Europe for Japanese cuisine, and their fish is delivered ultra-fresh every day.

La Moraga Iberica: Here’s a great recipe for an original new restaurant – take one Michelin starred chef, place him in modern surroundings, and then ask him to cook fast food! An utterly unique concept, the dishes come out thick and fast. And it’s with childlike excitement and wonder you’ll be trying gourmet versions of things like pork hamburger and chunky chips. It’s truly an incredible eating experience not to be missed on holidays to Puerto Banus.

Nightlife in Puerto Banus

Night time glamour: It goes without saying that just as the day in Puerto Banus is filled with stylish sun-bronzed people, shiny yachts and luxury cars, the night is filled with cool celebrities, sleek bars and beautiful clubs. Expect to see everyone from Cristiano Ronaldo to Barbara Windsor and Alan Sugar enjoying holidays here. Main hotspots for the rich and famous include Pangea, Velvet Room and Salduba. One word of warning though – there’s a price to pay for celebrity watching on your holidays, as many of the most exclusive bars are extremely expensive. For us mere mortals, you may prefer somewhere more down-to-earth, and you can always rely on Linekers or Irish pub O’Grady’s on cheap holidays to Puerto Banus.

Shopping in Puerto Banus

Centro Comercial Marina Banus: This modern shopping centre in Puerto Banus enjoys a privileged location looking out to sea. The interior is fresh, clean and cool thanks to the powerful air conditioning system. There’s a good number of international labels represented in the shops too, with brands such as Ana Sousa, Jack Jones and Massimo Dutti all having outlets here.

Nueva Andalucia Street Market: This bric-a-brac outdoor market is quite a contrast to the other retail places you’ll see on holidays to Puerto Banus. The stalls here offer everything from rare antiques to cheap clothes, tropical plants and exotic fruits. If you’re having your holidays in Puerto Banus, it’s certainly worth making a date in your diary for this weekly market held every Saturday.
