Sleek and modern holidays: A purpose-built resort for holidays created in 1979, Port el Kantaoui holidays 2019 are in the very heart of the popular tourist area of Tunisia, in the Gulf of Hammamet just 10km away from the city of Sousse.

Dougga: These Roman ruins were declared a UNESCO heritage site in 1997. They’re around 40km west of Port el Kantaoui, heading inland towards the dramatic golden plains of the Sahara desert. Originally a fortified village, it was occupied by Romans from the 2nd century BC. Temples, huge columns and walls still remain, and many of them are remarkably well preserved. They’re an impressive sight to see on your holidays to Port el Kantaoui.

Aqua Palace: The first water park created for holidays in Tunisia, Aqua Palace has a variety of twisting, turning slides all set within clean, spacious grounds. There are also smaller slides for young children on family holidays in Port el Kantaoui, plus a river ride and a huge wave pool. There’s plenty of space to relax on the large sun beds too.

Golf El Kantaoui Club: There are actually two 18-hole courses at this PGA approved golf club. Both courses were designed in 1979 at the same time as the creation of Port el Kantaoui as a destination for Tunisia holidays, so it’s little wonder that this club attracts many people on golfing holidays to Tunisia. The Panorama course is slightly hillier and offers some great scenery over the Port of El Kantaoui, while the Sea View course is a little flatter but longer, and many of the holes follow the coastline looking out to sea.

Wild watersports: As Port el Kantaoui was specifically built for tourists on holidays to Tunisia, so it’s not surprising that Port el Kantaoui holidays offer lots of different water sports on pristine beaches. Out to sea you can choose to partake in parasailing, jet-skiing and windsurfing. Plus, with Port el Kantaoui holidays being great for family holidays you can have fun out on the water with pedaloes, banana boats and glass bottom boats.

Hannibal Park: This fun theme park makes a good day out for family holidays. Inside the park there is a large playground, lots of little rides like tea cups and a mini-big wheel, plus one pretty speedy rollercoaster!

Hergla Park Go Karting course: Hergla Park has the only go-karting track in Tunisia which is aimed at both adults and children on their holidays in Port el Kantaoui. There’s also a choice of vehicles for different driving levels, plus amusements and restaurants actually on site.

Port el Kantaoui beach: Port el Kantaoui holidays are based along the gorgeous light golden coastline of the Gulf of Hammamet. Thatched parasols line the public parts of Port el Kantaoui beach, and it’s a wonderful spot to rest and relax in the bright Tunisian sun. Close to the port, there’s a variety of water sports centres and boating trips available, with everything from windsurfing to riding in glass-bottom boats, or even mock pirate ships for some fun for the children during their holidays here.

Boujaafar beach: Part of the same coastline which makes beach holidays to Port el Kantaoui incredibly popular, but further south towards Sousse, you’ll reach the famed Boujaafar beach. It’s much loved for its lightly coloured sand which is incredibly soft and fine. It creates a great space for blissful sunbathing during your holidays in Port el Kantaoui.

La Mediterranee: Generally, the best restaurants on Port el Kantaoui holidays are based around the harbour. And it’s around the port area that you’ll find the excellent La Mediterranee. The menu is suitably Mediterranean, encompassing classic dishes from Tunisia alongside those that’ll remind you of holidays in Spain, Italy and Portugal. Look out for the Brik (a Tunisian dish made with batter and eggs), and stuffed leg of lamb.

Les Emirs: This restaurant based around the port is famed for its fantastically fresh seafood. You can actually see the day’s catch in a large ice boat at the front of the restaurant. Meals here include fried swordfish, delicately flavoured lobster, and salt-baked sea bass. But it’s not all about the fish though! There are some tasty meat dishes here like beef stroganoff and slow cooked lamb casserole. It’s the ideal place if you like to try locally caught fish during your holidays in Port el Kantaoui.

La Daurade: Another great restaurant along the port, La Daurade is in a great location, with a terrace for enjoying the views of the harbour and the shimmering Mediterranean – a wonderful eating experience during holidays to Port el Kantaoui. Inside the decor continues the maritime theme, with wooden paraphernalia made to look like a ship’s hull.

Nightlife in Port el Kantaoui


Classy drinks: Much of the nightlife in Port el Kantaoui holidays is focused around the marina area, with its bar terraces that allow you to look out at the glossy boats anchored in the sea. Look out for the Irish theme pub called Puka, it’s considered to have the best atmosphere in Port el Kantaoui. There’s a smattering of clubs in Port el Kantaoui too, such as Iguana, Living and the Salon. Nights are never too rowdy during holidays to Tunisia though, and you can expect things to quieten down by 2am at the latest. And prices for drinks are surprisingly cheap making this tourist centred resort great for cheap holidays to Tunisia.

Hotel entertainment: Unless you’re travelling to the lively centre of the marina, the nightlife on Port el Kantaoui holidays can be quiet understated. However, that shouldn’t be a problem as many of the all inclusive hotels offer their own private entertainment at night, complete with glamorous bars, inventive cocktails and fun singing and dancing shows.

Marina shopping: As well as being the best place for nightlife on holidays to Port el Kantaoui, the marina is where all the shopping action is at too. You’ll come across stylish fashion boutiques as well as original handicraft stalls selling unique ornaments. Tunisia is at the crossroads of culture between the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Middle East, so you’ll see a huge range of crafts including everything from tailored rugs to ornate bird cages, leather belts to glittering jewellery.
