Pefkos Overview

Close to Lindos: Pefkos holidays grew in popularity to support nearby holidays in Lindos. Just 2km away, Lindos holidays have numerous cultural attractions within easy visiting distance.

Attractions in Pefkos

Feraklos Castle: Around 7km to the north of Pefkos holidays, Feraklos Castle makes a fascinating visit. Located in Haraki village, the castle was actually used by the Knights of St John during the crusades, mainly as a prison. Only ruins remain now, but they’re surprisingly intact, and they’re in a beautiful location, sitting atop an elevated position overlooking the coast.

Tharri Monastery: Nine miles inland from Pefkos holidays in the pretty little village of Laerma, Tharri Monastery is the biggest and oldest religious building on Rhodes holidays. Built around the 9th century, the monastery contains beautiful Byzantine artefacts and gilded paintings.

Beaches in Pefkos

Pefkos Beach: One of the best beaches you’ll see on Rhodes holidays, Pefkos beach has two miles of dusky golden sand, lined with sweet-smelling pine trees. It’s a pretty popular patch, which means it’s well facilitated with water sports, bars and restaurants. The beach also proudly has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag. This is in recognition of the cleanliness and safety of the beach, making it a great choice for children on family holidays here.

Lothiarika Beach: Around 1km long, Lothiarika Beach is the neighbouring beach to Pefkos. It also has soft golden sand, and even more impressively, its own Blue Flag status. Slightly quieter than Pefkos, the beach is well supported with tranquil bars and restaurants.

Restaurants in Pefkos

Coralli: With whitewashed walls and an open leafy terrace, this restaurant has a classic Greek style. The food is utterly authentic too, with dishes such as rosemary lamb, fish souvlaki (flame-grilled skewers) and flavourful mousakka.

Taverna Nikolas: Pefkos holidays have retained their roots and you’ll notice this most in the Greek cuisine offered in most of the restaurants here. The Taverna Nikolas is one such example, as it offers hearty beef stifado (beef stew), mouth-watering lamb shank and creamy tsatziki. It’s very highly rated by both tourists on their holidays and locals alike.

Anixis Restaurant: This small white tavern overlooking the coast offers a variety of quality Greek food, with a house speciality being lamb served with cherries. The fresh, hearty mousakka is also highly recommended.

Nightlife in Pefkos

Relaxed holidays: Although more laid-back in atmosphere than nearby Lindos holidays, there’s still a decent selection of cocktail bars and British-style pubs on Pefkos holidays. Elasmea is a fantastic example of a lively bar which offers very cheap drinks and cocktails, although The Peacock Bar is equally as charming thanks to its lush rooftop garden. The Pefkos By Night Bar also has a pretty raucous atmosphere – the barmen even put on a display of their mixing and juggling skills! And there are plenty of British-based pubs too, such as Bambooze which offers branded drinks and full English breakfasts, and places like Armonia, which has a covered terrace and several large screen Sky TVs for playing all the latest sporting action.
