Tourists have been having holidays in this lovely resort since the sixties, tempted by its beautiful beach and charming marina. As it’s been popular for so many years, Palma Nova has become brilliant at catering to British people on their holidays here. You’ll find all your home comforts here – like traditional food and a big choice of well-known beers. Perfect if you’re looking for holidays that are like Britain except with great weather!
Beautiful beach: Palma Nova Beach has fine soft sand that’s comfy on your feet, plus the calm waters that are great for kids if you’re on family holidays.
Palma Nova Marina: The fully functional Marina in Palma Nova is a nice place for a stroll during your holidays, stopping at a few cafes and watching the world (and the boats) pass by.
Activities in Palma Nova
Golf Fantasia: If you fancy a spot of fun for the whole family on your holidays, you can’t go wrong with Golf Fantasia. It’s a colourful crazy golf course with lots of imaginative designs – a great way to spend balmy evenings before tea.
Palma Aquarium: Inside this well-equipped aquarium which is in the capital city of Majorca, Palma, just to the east of Palma Nova holidays, you’ll see tropical fish, turtles and lots more watery wildlife. You can even watch the brave staff feeding the sharks!
Beaches in Palma Nova
Palma Nova: The beach in Palma Nova holidays has calm, shallow waters that are perfect for kids. As such, you’ll find more family holidays here than in Magaluf. There’s also a wide, well-kept promenade lined with cafes and bars.
Magaluf: Just a short walk along from Palma Nova, Magaluf Beach enjoys the same soft sand and tranquil waters. But it’s not quite as good for families as the beach can get pretty busy during the summer holidays and attracts a lively younger crowd.
Portal Nous: This beach is a little further along the coast of Majorca in the opposite direction to Magaluf holidays. It’s quite a small patch of sand but you’ll enjoy some wonderful views of the exclusive port nearby. There’s also a lovely little island just out in the warm Mediterranean Sea.
Restaurants in Palma Nova
La Cucaracha: Being the only Mexican restaurant on Palma Nova holidays makes La Cucaracha rather unique. Expect to be served mouth-watering dishes like chilli nachos and sizzling fajitas.
Maritimo: This all-day restaurant is highly rated, especially the open-air barbecue that offers delicious char grilled burgers and steaks – yum! Just the thing for the hot sunny weather Majorca Holidays often enjoy. It’s also great value, so if you love cheap holidays to Palma Nova, you’ll find this restaurant is bang on your budget with its very cheap prices.
El Salmon: As you’re so near the sea during your holidays in Palma Nova, how about a fish restaurant? You can enjoy some tasty dishes here like Salmon Breast in Orange Sauce and Monkfish with Green Peppers.
Nightlife in Palma Nova
Palma Nova: Although not as lively as holidays to nearby Magaluf, there’s still a fair share of karaoke and sports bars in Palma Nova holidays, plus live entertainment shows.
Magaluf: For a full-on night out, your best bet would be to hot foot it down to Magaluf. It’s within easy walking distance, and the main street Punta Ballena is lined with buzzing bars and clubs.
