The island of Malta may be on the small side but don’t let that fool you, as it boasts a wealth of fascinating attractions both natural and man made, as well as entertainment on a level that will keep every modern day traveller happy.
There are many amazing resorts here, which include the very popular town of Qawra. Here you can enjoy discovering a number of historic sights such as St John’s Co-Cathedral and the watchtowers. If you love nightlife then Bugibba is the place to be, as you will find a bigger selection of bars here compared to the other resorts. It’s also good for shopping and the views are wonderful thanks to its coastal location.
If you love golfing holidays then how about visiting the Royal Malta Golf Course near the resort of Sliema. There is also a water park nearby, which is great for family days out. Mellieha is the perfect place for relaxing holidays in Malta, as life is very chilled here. If you love natural sights head to the Ghadira Nature Reserve or visit a piece of film history in the form of the village where the film Popeye was filmed. Its location on the northern end of Malta means that it’s one of the best places to depart for the nearby island of Gozo.
The beautiful island of Gozo features many hidden gems and a stunning coastline and landscape. If you love diving or want to try it for the first time, Gozo is perfect, as it has many beautiful dive sites including the Blue Hole. The Blue Hole can be found in a small 10m wide pool a few feet from the open sea. As you descend you will pass into the hole, where you will see beautiful rock formations and a wonderful array of marine life. The hole will eventually lead you out into the sea.
Whether you want to visit Gozo or one of the fabulous resorts along the shores of mainland Malta, you won’t be disappointed and thanks to the regular boat trips and short distance between resorts, you can even visit them all during a single holiday! Find out more about what each resort offers by checking out our Malta holiday guides below.
