Attractions in Ibiza Town

Dalt Villa: Although holidays to Ibiza are considered to be all about the clubs, you’ll actually discover some beautiful historical attractions in Ibiza Town, with Dalt Villa being the main sight in Ibiza. Literally meaning ‘high town’, you’d be best advised to wear some trainers or soft footwear for the steep hills inside the town walls. Many of the buildings inside the walls of Ibiza Town have retained their true Spanish character and have been completely unchanged over time.

Archaeological Museum: Near the top of Dalt Villa you’ll come across this fascinating museum. A secret room in the old castle of Ibiza Town was only discovered in 2002. Inside, there were an amazing array of artefacts from Roman and Phoenician times in almost perfect condition. Many of the findings are now displayed in the museum, so you can imagine that it makes for an interesting visit during your holidays to Ibiza Town!

Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art: Founded in 1971, this small gallery is housed in an old stone building which dates from the 16th century. Most of the modern art inside was created by respected artists who either spent their holidays in Ibiza or are natives of Ibiza.

Activities in Ibiza Town

Aqualandia: Activities on Ibiza holidays tend to focus around the water, and that’s certainly true of Aqualandia! The smaller of the two water parks in Ibiza holidays (the other larger one is 3km away in Playa d’en Bossa). There are great views of Dalt Villa perched high on its hill, plus the park has tennis courts for sporty types alongside the usual water slides.

Water sports holidays: Although Ibiza Town is a cosmopolitan, urban village, it’s surprisingly close to a good number of beaches. Playa d’en Bossa in particular has a great range of water sports and is very popular with windsurfers for the waves that whip up further out to sea.

Talamanca: You may not think of beach holidays when you think of holidays to Ibiza Town, but there are actually quite a few within 1km of the resort. This gently curving bay has fabulous views of Ibiza Town, making a beautiful setting to spend your time sunbathing during your holidays. Luckily, the sand is also nice and soft and the water is shallow for children on family holidays to Ibiza Town. There’s no cost for entry so it’s quite possible to enjoy cheap holidays on the beach here.

Figueretas: At less than 1km away from the centre, this small sandy beach is the closest of all beaches in Ibiza Town holidays. The palm-lined promenade makes for a pretty walk, and is bustling with street traders in the evening. The great thing about beaches in Ibiza is that there’s rarely an entry fee, so the only cost you might have to pay is the pretty cheap prices for optional sun beds and parasols. Playa d’en Bossa: Home of the famous Bora Bora Bar, this is the place to come if you want to party! The low-flying planes landing at the nearby airport make for exciting viewing too!

Pacha: Many people have holidays in Ibiza just to visit this club! The most famous club in the world needs no introduction, but we’ll give you one anyway! Built in 1973, Pacha has grown in stature year upon year to be considered one of the greatest clubs in the world, not just Ibiza. It regularly tops polls for the most beautiful club, and has been renovated several times to improve its famously loud sound system. You’ll see many superstar DJs play to 3,500 happy clubbers over the summer holidays!

Shopping in Ibiza Town

Fabulous boutiques: Holidays to Ibiza Town are also quite special for their night time shopping. Many stores stay open until late, and it’s a real pleasure to wander the cobbled streets checking out the many independent shops and original labels. Our pick of the shops are Holala!
