Mylos: This nice little restaurant with a leafy exterior and outdoor rustic terrace serves tasty home cooked Greek food just as it should be – simple and unfussy but with excellent fresh ingredients. Try dishes like stifado (stew) souvlaki (meat skewers) and Pastistio (a lasagne style dish).

Atlantis Restaurant: Another restaurant to try classic Greek fare during your holidays. This one is a little more centrally located than Mylos so it may be more convenient and easier to find. The food is equally as good too, with dishes like mousaka and lamb kleftiko being favourites.

Elotia Taverna Pizzeria: The pizza tastes fantastic at what must surely be one of the best pizzerias you’ll come across on holidays to Crete.
