Es Cana Overview

Hippie Market: The Hippie Market helped elevate Es Cana holidays from a sleepy coastal village to a bustling resort for beach holidays. Held every Wednesday since the 1960’s, you’ll find lots of unique handmade crafts at the Hippie Market like jewellery, pottery and colourful clothing.

Great beach holidays: A lovely sandy stretch of coast, it’s easy to see why beach holidays to Es Cana have become ever more popular. The sea here is also crystal clear and shallow for quite a long way out, making it ideal for young children on family holidays.

Activities in Es Cana

Hippie Market: People on holidays to Ibiza travel for miles to visit the famous Es Cana Hippie Market. The market started in the sixties when hippies who live on the island would sell items they’d picked up on their own holidays to Goa and Thailand. Now the Hippie Market has expanded beyond the few stalls it once was, but you can still find some interesting items here. Set in a large, leafy open space it’s a good idea to bring a cap or shawl as you’ll be out in the bright sun all day.

Children’s play area: This newly built play park is situated in the centre of the resort, so it’s convenient to travel to on your way in and out of the beach. Little children on family holidays in Es Cana can certainly have a few hours of fun here.

Water activity holidays: Most of the beaches on Es Cana holidays are well supported with all manner of water sports. For the adventurous, Es Cana holidays offer parasailing and waterskiing or there are also fun doughnuts and banana boats if you don’t fancy learning a whole new activity! Cala Martina also has its very own windsurfing school for experts and beginners alike.

Beaches in Es Cana

Es Cana: A great beach is what summer holidays are all about, and Es Cana holidays don’t disappoint. A large stretch of golden sand which gently curls to a crescent, the beach is also lined with bars and restaurants so you won’t have to venture too far if you’re feeling peckish while you’re sunbathing on holidays here.

Cala Martina: A little further out at the southern end of Es Cana, this beach is a bit quieter than the main one that everybody goes to on holidays in Es Cana, but that’s part of its charm. The strip of sand is fairly small – just 100 metres long. But it’s sheltered on both sides by huge green trees, making it a really pleasant spot. You’re only charged low prices for using sun beds or parasols, making for a rather cheap way to sunbathe during your holidays in Es Cana.

S’Argamassa: A very small secluded beach, backed by a thick forest of sweet-smelling pines. Being near to a few major all inclusive hotels, it can get very popular during the summer holidays despite its small size. You’d be best to get here early to truly take in the beauty of this beach.

Restaurants in Es Cana

La Perla: This restaurant/bar has a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying many classic Spanish and British dishes. Tapas is served all day so you can enjoy things like Chorizo and Grilled Squid at any time. Plus, the outdoor terrace is huge and houses a massive TV for watching Sky Sports. The huge meals represent great value, so cheap holidays in Es Cana are certainly possible if you eat here often!

Jacaranda Lounge: An elegantly stylish beach bar and restaurant, kitted out in modern decor and a sleek swimming pool. The menu encompasses all kinds of international cuisine like Mexican and Thai, while you could always catch a cocktail and lean back on the plush white sofas. The quality of this restaurant means it’s worth visiting even if you’re on all inclusive holidays in Es Cana.

Las Arenas: Walk by and you may not notice this hidden gem, especially as it’s so small! You’ll be missing out on some of the best food on your Es Cana holidays if you do though. The chef has created a varied menu serving British and European dishes, with a great selection of desserts too.

Nightlife in Es Cana

Good choice of bars: Being on the north-eastern coast, Es Cana holidays are quite far away from all the madness of San Antonio and Ibiza Town. You won’t find any late night clubs in Es Cana, what you will find though, is many great bars to have a good few drinks on family holidays.

It’s the perfect nightlife scene for relaxing holidays, plus the music’s not so loud you can’t hear yourself speak! There are a few themed bars which are great fun for kids and adults alike, such as Apache (a Wild West theme) and Moe’s Tavern (based on The Simpsons). And there are a good deal more which have great sports coverage on widescreen projector TVs, the best example being Do Drop Inn. Being outside the main party resorts, prices for drinks are quite cheap too, which is perfect if you’re looking for cheap holidays to Ibiza.

Shopping in Es Cana

Hippie Market: We thought we’d just have to mention the Hippie Market again! After all, some people have their holidays in Es Cana just so they’re close to this atmospheric open-air market. There are also some actual shops on Es Cana holidays, but they only sell typical souvenirs and touristy items. Whereas, in the Hippie Market held every Wednesday there’s a good chance you’ll come across some unique handicrafts and brilliant gifts to give to your friends and family when you’re home from your holidays in Es Cana.
