Bali Overview

Relaxing holidays: On a quiet little cove right in the northern centre, Bali offers peaceful holidays in delightful natural surroundings. The resort is actually surrounded by imposing pine-covered mountains which you can hike into to truly take in the breathtaking scenery. You’ll get some amazing snaps while you’re up there too!

Charming tavernas: Close to the pretty little port in the centre of Bali, you’ll come across several authentic tavernas and small bars. All offer an authentically Greek experience – they’re places where you can relax and unwind on your holidays with a cool drink in hand and delicious food in your belly.

Attractions in Bali

Agios Ioannis Prodromos Monastery: This rustic cobble stone church is situated in a beautiful location, high in the mountains overlooking the coastline on Bali holidays. It can be quite a steep walk to reach it, so you’re best advised to get a taxi to the top. The monastery was actually built in 1635, so it’s quite a relic of the years gone by in Crete. The grounds have since been renovated, and the monastery now has an incredible sense of serene beauty, from the courtyard of vines and cypress trees to rows of overflowing purple and white flowers bunched around the entrance.

Activities in Bali

Diving holidays: There’s a surprisingly good choice of water sports at the main beach on Bali holidays. Perhaps your best option would be to check in at the Hippocampus Diving Centre. They can arrange scheduled dives setting off from Bali’s port and you can even gain an official PADI diving licence if you take a number of lessons during your holidays here.

Melidoni Cave: Melidoni is a small town around 7km inland from Bali, and while you may have to traverse mountainous roads to get there, it’s well worth a visit during your holidays purely for its beautiful cave.

Bali mini-train: Part transport service, part tourist attraction, this mini-train offers much more than just a scenic tour of the surrounding areas during your holidays in Bali. It’s also an incredibly convenient way to travel to different spots within Bali, and you’ll find local people use the service just as much as the tourists.

Beaches in Bali

Bali Beach: This light golden sand-and-shingle beach is certainly a pleasant spot for sunbathing on your holidays and the shoreline leads into a lovely section of whirlpool warm Mediterranean Sea. But perhaps one of the best features of this beach is the awe-inspiring backdrop of the nearby terracotta-coloured mountains; they make a truly impressive sight. Luckily, this section of shore is pretty convenient for water sports too, with a whole host of water-based activities available.

Restaurants in Bali

Mozzarella: From the distinctive name you may expect traditional Italian fare here, but Mozzarella actually offers a far more eclectic menu than that. You’ll find dishes here to please everyone, including the kids on family holidays, with meals as diverse as burger and chips, spaghetti Bolognese and chicken satay.

Posto Cafe Snack Bar: A great choice for a light bite to eat, at Posto you can enjoy a wide range of sandwiches and rolls created with freshly baked Greek bread (sprinkled with seeds and very delicious). The Posto also has wi fi internet access if you want to catch up on everything that’s going on with the web while you’re on your holidays!
