Introduction
Ranked among the most popular destinations for British travellers, we have been enjoying Balearic Islands holidays for decades. It’s easy to see why with almost guaranteed sunshine, beautiful stretches of beaches and friendly locals tempting us back year after year.
The main trio of islands – Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca – all offer their own unique charm catering for the whims of every holidaymaker. Families and couples adore the resorts of Majorca, partygoers head to Ibiza for its legendary clubs and nightlife while the relaxed vibe of Menorca is perfect for those just wanting to chill out. Whether you want to dance till dawn, unwind by the pool, explore a new city or anything else in between then the Balearics are the place for you.
A real crowd pleaser
When it comes to Balearic Islands holidays there is one aspect that never fails to disappoint – the beaches. The collection of islands has stretches of stunning shoreline complimented by the warm waters of the Mediterranean and the dramatic backdrop of the nearby mountain range. The golden sands and calm ocean create the perfect location for long days watching the world go by.
The largest of the islands – Majorca – is the quintessential beach destination. Coastal resorts such as Cala d’Or and Alcudia are huge favourites with families while the quieter coves of Cala Torta and Es Trenc are excellent retreats for couples looking to escape the busier resorts. Not to be outdone, Menorca can rival its bigger brother in the shoreline stakes with the likes of Son Bou and Cala’n Forcat both great chill-out spots.
Then, of course, there is the ultimate party destination of Ibiza. Renowned across the world for legendary clubs such as Pacha, Privilege and Space, the town of San Antonio has been a dance music staple for over three decades. If you’ve not experienced it before then you haven’t lived! However, Ibiza isn’t all about partying and the island has a wonderful charm to it with the northern resort of Santa Eulalia both a cultural and beach break favourite.
A holiday in the Balearics doesn’t have to be just a beach holiday as the Majorcan capital of Palma is emerging as a city break hotspot. A place rich in culture, arts and beautiful food it has become an interesting destination to spend a couple of days.
Why visit the Balearic Islands?
There are not many places that epitomise your friend saying “you haven’t been?! Oh, you simply must go” than the Balearic Islands. If you haven’t holidayed in these gems of the Mediterranean then you truly are missing out.

Have a night to remember in the legendary clubs of Ibiza, watch the sunrise over the quaint port of Majorca’s Puerto Pollenca or snap a selfie outside Palma Cathedral – the Balearics are simply a joy to behold.
