Argassi Overview
Family holidays: There’s a whole host of activities for children in welcoming Argassi, making it ideal for family holidays. In just the small village of Argassi, there is a theme park, an animal farm, as well as mini-golf, go-karts and table tennis.
Clubbing holidays: Argassi holidays are growing in popularity every year, and it’s easy to see why. As well as offering plenty of activities, there are now more and more bars in Argassi, so much so that the resort now has a lively nightlife scene.
Activities in Argassi
Theme Park: Directly on Argassi road, this fun and colourful theme park has a variety of activities that are sure to delight your children on family holidays here. There’s an indoor play area with trampolines and small pedaloes in a safe, shallow pool. As for outdoor activities, there’s a fascinating farm that’s sure to keep little ones enthralled for hours with its snakes, crocodiles and racoons.
Kids Car Track: Also on Argassi Road, you’ll come across even more places for children to have fun on Argassi holidays, including this fun mini-car track.
Speedo Kiddo: Another activity centre found alongside the Kids Car Track, Speedo Kiddo has some speedy go-karts for racing around a winding, twisting track. And for those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, there’s table tennis available too!
World Tour Mini-Golf: If you’re on Argassi holidays we also highly recommend that you visit this 18-hole crazy golf course. The course is very well-facilitated and has an inventive design based on landmarks from all over the world. As you play each course you’ll notice scaled-down replicas of the Empire State Building, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Rio de Janiero Christ the Redeemer statue.
Beaches in Argassi
Argassi Beach: Just under a kilometre of sand-and-shingle beach, Argassi holidays yet again come up trumps for children because the sea remains shallow very far out from the coast. This means they can enjoy paddling in safety during their holidays here whilst you relax on the beach. As Argassi holidays have exploded in popularity in recent years, you’ll notice that there are a number of beachfront bars, tavernas and hotels now following the coastline too.
Kalamaki Beach: Around 4km away from Argassi holidays and forming part of Laganas Bay, Kalamaki Beach continues on from Laganas Beach. Much like the resort itself, this beach is a little quieter than its rowdy neighbour, although it still enjoys the same velvety golden sand and crystalline waters. The beach is well facilitated with lifeguards, toilets and showers too.
Laganas Beach: The second, and larger part of Laganas Bay, Laganas Beach has a livelier atmosphere as you might expect. This large golden beach is actually the longest on the island – over 5km in total. All this extra space means you’ve plenty of space to stretch out while you sunbathe, even during the busy summer months.
Restaurants in Argassi
Peppermint: Although this restaurant doesn’t have a particularly Greek-sounding name, you’ll find that the food here is an intriguing combination of Greek and Italian cuisine well worth trying on your holidays in Argassi. Delights include moussaka (lasagne-style dish with minced lamb) and Spaghetti Bolognese.
Granada: This authentic Greek tavern serves a variety of classic dishes, and they even have lively Greek nights featuring a full scope of entertainment, from plate smashing to energetic singing and dancing! It sure all adds up to a memorable time on your holidays in Argassi.
Blue ‘n’ Blue: Another slightly unusual name for a Greek restaurant, the real highlight here is the fantastic location. Sitting on a hill overlooking the bay, it’s best to eat here just before dusk so you can watch the amber sunset shimmering over the pristine whitewashed houses of Zante Town below. You may even be able to take some fantastic photos from this location during Argassi holidays.
Nightlife in Argassi
Many bars: Argassi holidays are gradually gaining a reputation as a real rival to Laganas holidays for the best nightspot in Zante. Every year it seems there are more and more bars popping up on the main strip in Argassi. Firstly, you’ve got an abundance of British bars that offer the things we love best – football, beer, and pub games! For example, the Wreck has several Sky TVs showing all the latest sporting action, whilst Oasis offers a similar type of entertainment alongside pool tables too. But if you’d prefer to party hard with loud pumping music, you’d be best off heading to bars such as Artemis, Kiss Bar and Magic Mushroom. And if you want to make a real night of it during your holidays here, head to the Factory Club where the music doesn’t stop until the early hours!
Shopping in Argassi
Souvenirs and supermarkets: Argassi is still a rather small town, although it’s steadily growing each year. So while there’s a limited selection of shops, there’s still more than enough for you to find here for souvenirs for bringing back home from your holidays. There’s a number of little supermarkets, which are ideal for buying everything you need for lunches and picnics. And you’ll also come across shops which specialise in souvenirs, offering everything from novelty t-shirts to postcards and key rings. For shops a little more focused on fashion, head to Derakas or Vergina, both of which offer designer labels as well as jewellery and ceramics.
