Luckily, the water here is shallow too, so children on family holidays are perfectly safe going 20 metres out into sea.

Restaurants in Arenal d’en Castell

El Pirata: This friendly all-day restaurant serves tasty meat and fish dishes like marinated chicken and steak, plus lunchtime snacks if you’re peckish after sunbathing. It’s a great place to go if you’re on your family holidays in Menorca too, as karaoke and Playstation games are available for a bit of fun after eating.

Whites Bar: This chilled-out bar and restaurant is part of a hotel, but you don’t need to be having your holiday there to pay them a visit. The menu has a surprisingly varied range of British and Spanish dishes, and there’s even a little secluded beach nearby if you fancy a paddle!

Alcalde: A traditional Menorca restaurant for a true taste of this Spanish island. The lobster stew is highly recommended, and of course, this is the home of Mayonnaise (from Mahon, the capital of Menorca), so make sure you try some on your holidays here.

Nightlife in Arenal d’en Castell

Family friendly holidays: There’s a smattering of bars on Arenal d’en Castell holidays and there are a few which line the beachfront too. But if you just want relaxing holidays it’s perfectly easy to have a sedate night out, with just a few drinks by your hotel pool. Luckily, the music never gets too noisy on holidays to Menorca!

Coves Noves Centre: The main shopping centre in Arenal d’en Castell supplies all your holiday essentials, but don’t expect much in terms of designer fashion and high-end goods. Still, it’s a low-priced place to pick up a few souvenirs and beach gear, making cheap holidays to Menorca even better value.
