The capital of Zante, Zakynthos Town is one of the nicest towns in Greece. Rebuilt after the earthquake of the 50's, many of the Venetian and Byzantine ruins have been preserved and Zakynthos Town offers lots to see and do!
Zakynthos Town has a lovely long beach with golden sands and the clear aqua waters typical to Zante and Greece! If you're not relaxing on the beach then take a walk round the harbour of Zakynthos Town where you can book boat excursions to the rest of Zante and Greece. The tennis courts and parks are also a popular option!
If you like to sightsee on your holiday, then Greece is a good option! Zakynthos Town has some of the best sights in Zante such as the hilltop ruins of a Venetian castle, the Church of San Dionisio and plenty of museums to keep even the most hard-to-please history buff occupied! Zakynthos Town also has a huge amphitheatre that is used for outdoor concerts and this is well worth a visit or two!
Zakynthos Town offers an abundance of shops where you can pick up anything from souvenirs of Greece to household ornaments to the latest fashions. The area has lots of tavernas, restaurants and snack bars, so you'll never get bored of the variety of food on offer – and for the evening, bars and discos provide entertainment that will see you through the night!
