Costa Adeje
Just west of Playa De Las Americas, fast becoming one of the most popular destinations in Tenerife and indeed in Europe, lies Costa Adeje. Costa Adeje is a beautiful coastal town set against the striking backdrop of Mount Teide, and looking out on the majestic Atlantic Ocean.
Most of the hotels in Costa Adeje have been built in the past twenty years so they tend to be more luxurious than some of the older hotels in Tenerife. One of the best hotels in Costa Adeje has to be the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje resort. It is a sea front hotel that is relatively close to the Los Gigantes cliffs. The Bahia Principe hotel has its own self-contained shopping and leisure centre and is situated so as to be close enough to the towns night-life to provide an exciting evening out, but far enough away to provide peace and quiet. The most attractive characteristic of the Bahia Principe hotel is the sparkling aqua-blue pool from which one can get a fantastic view of the sea. Although you may pay a little more for the resorts in Costa Adeje, the extra expense is well worth it!
As with all of Tenerife, Costa Adeje contains no shortage of things to do. Marine activities are definitely the main pastime around the area – how could they not be, with the Atlantic so breathtakingly close? Holiday makers can have themselves a ball with whale watching, wind surfing and of course, scuba-diving. Costa Adeje has some of the best spots to scuba-dive on all of Tenerife, so remember to pack your snorkel!
As well as marine activities, Costa Adeje is home to a lot of historic architecture that is always worth a visit and will leave you with a sense of the history of Tenerife. If that doesn’t interest you then, there is always Golf Costa Adeje which is considered to be one of the best gold courses in Tenerife, shopping centres, sports centres, aqua parks and much much more!
Costa Adeje is home to a mixture of golden and black volcanic beaches, the most well known of which is probably the Fañabe beach. The beaches in Costa Adeje tend to be sheltered bays and guarded by life guards, so a day at the beach means good, safe family fun. Most of the beaches also contain onsite facilities such as cafes, showers and toilets. With beaches like these, you may not want to spend your holiday anywhere else!
