Callao Salvaje is a mix between a holiday resort and a residential town, situated towards the south-west of Tenerife and falling between the peaceful Los Gigantes and the well-known, popular resort of Playa De Las Americas. If what you are looking for is a holiday that is relaxed but not too far from the action, then Callao Salvaje is the place.
Regardless of, or perhaps, due to it being slightly off beaten track, Callao Salvaje has a good choice of attractive restaurants with the advantage being a greater array of traditional dishes native to Tenerife and Spain.
Callao Salvaje features supermarkets, shops, car hire shops, bars, a pharmacy and easily-reachable golf courses. Enough to provide entertainment in its most relaxed form and with Playa De Las Americas ten minutes away by car, more excitement is never too far away!
Good hotels seem to be run-of-the-mill in most of Tenerife and Callao Salvaje has proven to be no exception. One such popular hotel is Tropical Park which is good for families, couples, young and old people alike! The hotel is comprised of apartments and has extremely good service and facilities (such as tennis and squash courts and a disco) and Tropical Park also has some stupendous views of Callao Salvaje, La Gomera and Mount Teide. Tropical Park is also very close to the sea so holiday makers can relax in the evenings and watch the sun set over the sea. Bliss!
The beach in Callao Salvaje as of yet, is nothing much to speak about, however, you are not far from some of the other lovely beaches of Tenerife. One such beach is the beach of Fañabe whose golden swathes of sand are often offset by the brilliant orange and purple sunsets.
Callao Salvage may not be as well-travelled as the rest of Tenerife, but if you want a holiday in a resort that has excitement and relaxation then this is the perfect resort. Callao Salvaje also serves as a peaceful base from which to explore the rest of the beautiful Tenerife.
