Puerto Aventuras Holidays
Puerto Aventuras Overview
Relaxing holidays: Lying on the Mayan Riviera, holidays to Puerto Aventuras 2012 are conveniently close to the major resorts of both Playa del Carmen and Cancun. But the significant advantage of Puerto Aventuras holidays is the pure peace and quiet you’ll enjoy. Far quieter than the resorts that surround it, Puerto Aventuras holidays have some stunning beaches and eco-parks, and should you ever feel the need to see the bright lights of the city or have a lively night out, Playa del Carmen is mere minutes away.
Natural wonders: Puerto Aventuras holidays boast some beautiful natural delights. Within close distance you’ll see the enchanting underground caves of the Kantun Chi eco-park and several powder soft beaches.
Activities in Puerto Aventuras
Eco-park Kantun Chi: There are a number of natural wonders to admire in this eco-park, including cenotes – underground caverns formed around pools of fresh water, and a collection of grotto caves named Grutaventura which has an amazing array of stalactites and stalagmites. You’re even free to swim in the pools which form under the caves!
Dolphin discovery: Have an unforgettable experience on your holidays at this dolphin park. Your whole family can swim with the dolphins in a safe environment, with plenty of opportunity to have some great pictures taken by the on-site photographer. And if you’d like to have even more fun, you can swim with sea-lions, manatees, rays and sharks too!
Puerto Aventuras Golf Course: Practically built out of the jungle, this 36 par golf course has been sympathetically created to synchronize with the surrounding environment. You’ll encounter super smooth carpet-like fairways, overhanging palm trees and sweet-smelling flowers. It’s the perfect place for golfing holidays in Mexico.
Beaches in Puerto Aventuras
Xpu-Ha Beach: This beautiful beach is a much-loved spot on Puerto Aventuras holidays, largely because it is so quiet and peaceful! It’s a classic Mexican beach, with silky white sand and alluring azure waters, but it seems even more paradisiacal as it is so deserted. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to take some fantastic postcard-style snaps to show your friends and family when you’re back from your holidays!
Oasis Beach: Part of the Oasis hotel complex, you’re free to sunbathe at this beach even if you’re not having all inclusive holidays at the hotel. It’s a pleasant spot; with sand of the lightly golden white variety and crystal clear water. The atmosphere is perfectly peaceful too, much like Puerto Aventuras holidays in general.
Restaurants in Puerto Aventuras
Tu Parador: A rustic restaurant where the food is attended to very carefully and presented elegantly on the plate. Dishes make the most of the fresh ingredients born from the warm Mexican climate, with enticing flavours like king prawns with coconut, key lime pie and fish freshly caught by the owner himself that very morning. It offers a real taste of Mexico during your holidays in Puerto Aventuras.
Taco Paco: Visiting a taco bar is essential during holidays in Mexico, and Taco Paco certainly fits the bill. Choose from a fabulous variety of fillings, from fresh fish to spicy chicken and richly flavoured chilli con carne.
Tiramisu: Unusually for a restaurant named after an Italian dessert, you’ll actually find lots of Mexican cuisine here. The Cajun chicken and nachos with cheese are highly rated, but you can also choose from Italian classics like spaghetti meatballs and lasagne. And yes, they do serve tiramisu as a dessert!
Nightlife in Puerto Aventuras
Hotel drinks: Puerto Aventuras holidays are rather quiet for nightlife with not many private bars or clubs outside of the all inclusive hotels found here. There’s a great time to be had in the hotels though, and you can even visit their bars if you’re not actually a guest there. Hotel Catalonia is a top choice for evening entertainment as they feature comedy shows, Mexican theme nights and ghost plays.
Shopping in Puerto Aventuras
Craft stalls: Being a rather small resort, Puerto Aventuras holidays don’t have much in the way of massive malls and supermarkets. However, you should see a good selection of stalls, many offering souvenir items for cheaper than you’ll find in on holidays to Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Jewellery, hammocks and hand-carved figurines are all available at the local stalls, but if you’d prefer to buy some big name brands and do some fashion shopping, why not head to the wider selection of shops in Playa del Carmen.
