Set in the north of Majorca is the beautiful resort of Alcudia. Consisting of Alcudia Old Town, the port and a gorgeous beach, Alcudia is one of Majorca's most popular holiday resorts, with people returning year after year!
The port of Alcudia is one of the main places to be with a lot of activity centred around it. The area surrounding the port is choc-full of bars, restaurants and shops – you could easily spend the whole holiday here!
Alcudia Old Town is worth a visit too. The narrow winding streets hide a multitude of small shops and bistros and the huge market opens every Sunday and Tuesday – leather handbags are a souvenir must! The market is one of the best in Majorca, so set aside a whole day to trawl through all the stalls!
Alcudia is the perfect holiday destination for sun-worshippers and beach-lovers. With one of the longest beaches in all Majorca – stretching over five miles – most people are quite content to spend their holiday on the beach. The rolling white sands, soft as silk, the occasional dunes, the waving palms and of course, the clear blue waters all create an enchanting mix and the perfect beach setting!
Water sports are available in abundance on the beach, with everything from banana boats to paragliding on the menu. The rest of Alcudia offers a nature reserve, go-karting, golf, squash, tennis, horse-riding and the magnificent Hidropark! Kids and adults alike always go wild for the huge slides and the bumpy wave pool!
Nightlife in Alcudia is more low-key than Magaluf but still lively enough with bars, restaurants and a few clubs. Most entertainment is centred in the hotels though – such as the Alcudia Pins hotel. The Alcudia Pins is set right on the beach and has a gorgeous pool with its very own waterslide! With great food, great facilities and fantastic entertainment, the Alcudia Pins really makes your holiday in Alcudia one to remember!
