Alaro
Lying inland on Majorca, Alaro is a quiet resort that is frequented by tourists who want some peace and quiet and great scenery! If you're looking for that genuine Spanish feeling, then Alaro has it in spades – tapas, sangria and midday fiestas are the order of the day here!
Alaro is set against a backdrop of stunning, sun-kissed countryside with rolling fields and shadowy wooded areas. In Alaro, walking is the activity of choice and you'll never be bored doing it – the scenery is too spectacular!
Although small, Alaro features in most guidebooks to Majorca because of the Puig De Castell. Set at the top of a huge outcrop, the ruins of a 15th Century castle and fortress look out upon the wide expanse of the deep blue sea. It may take around three hours to reach the top, but the views make the journey worthwhile – and there's a restaurant and bar up there so you can fortify yourself for the walk back down with a nice glass of cool sangria!
Alaro may not be tourist-central, but the surrounding areas of Majorca offer other amusements. One thing's for sure – you'll fall straight in love with the tranquillity of Alaro!
