This unique island can’t offer sandy beaches but it does have hillsides with vibrant coloured flowers, and over 200 species that can only be found here and lush greenery, which meets the edge of the cliffs. Its does not have high raised concrete buildings which makes it have a more of a relaxing atmosphere.
If you want to be adventurous there is a selection of activities available for example deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and 2 18-hole golf courses. If you’re into using your feet more then there is a well-organised walking route to go on.
If shopping’s more your thing then its Funchal you need to be, with its spectacular shops and huge range of bars and restaurants. If you want to break the habit of a usual beach holiday then this would be the place for you.
The nightlife in Madeira is very cosmopolitan and appeals to all ages. Funchal has a variety of bars and discos. And if you’re feeling lucky the there is always the casino de Madeira.
