Tias is an unhurried, quiet resort just to the north of Lanzarote’s popular Puerto Del Carmen. Tias is an unspoilt village that is perfect if you’re looking for a place that’s not too close but not too far from the livelier resorts.
Once a fishing village because of the abundance of coast line, Tias is near to beaches of unending white sand and clear blue waters – perfect for relaxation!
Tias has few restaurants and bars but the food that is served can compete with anything from the rest of Lanzarote – the fresh fish simply has to be tasted to be believed and the tapas is divine – don’t be surprised if you go home with your pants feeling tighter than usual!
As for attractions, Tias has the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria which is worth a visit to get a feeling for early architecture of Lanzarote. The volcanic landscape of the La Geria Valley near Tias is also worth a trip to see the unusual formations.
Tias is well-placed to visit some of Lanzarote’s more well known attractions such as the Timanfaya National Park and the imposing castle at the islands capital Arrecife. As Puerto Del Carmen is nearby, busy nightlife is not far and Tias awaits as the perfect antidote to to any stresses life can bring!
