El Paso
El Paso is a little-known and little-travelled resort that lies at the centre of La Palma. A densely wooded area and with rolling seas of clouds, El Paso is one of the most scenic places you could imagine and offers the perfect away-from-it-all holiday destination!
The main attractions of El Paso are nature-based seeing as La Palma is an island of astounding natural beauty. La Palma's Taburiente National Park and volcano are nearby El Paso and your whole holiday could easily be spent there! The lava formations, waterfalls, forests and mountains make for some awe-inspiring sights and its easy to lose a whole day wandering around!
El Paso has a large evergreen forest, La Cumbrecita which surrounds the El Paso volcano, the impressive Tacande volcano. If you journey to La Palma, the forest and volcano of El Paso are a must see! El Paso is also home to Parque Paraiso De Las Aves a nature park that contains many species of free-flying birds and a rather fine oyster mushroom stand!
El Paso holds the Nuestra Senora Del Pino festival every couple of years in August so if you go, try to book at this time – the locals really know how to throw a good festival party!
Although El Paso has a lack of beaches, there are some close by and we're sure that the beauty of your surroundings will more than make up for the lack of sand!
