Situated on the south of Kefalonia is the resort Skala. Skala is a large resort that proves to be ever more popular due to the gorgeous beach, the friendly atmosphere and the abundance of lavish accommodation such as the Porto Skala Hotel.
Skala has a beach that is simply divine – long and sandy, bathed by sun and the blue sea, backed by pines and decorated with beach bars…it's no wonder Skala beach is one of the most popular in Kefalonia! The beach also has lots of watersports on offer, a dive centre and if you don't like the thought of sand between your toes then there are several nearby swimming pools too!
Skala has lots of sightseeing opportunities if you can drag yourself away from the beach and the luxury hotels like the Porto Skala! The Roman mosaics are lovely and the ruins of Skala Old Town from the Kefalonia earthquake are worth going seeing too. Skala has lots of souvenir shops too where you can buy unusual arts and crafts from all over Kefalonia!
One of the best places to stay in Skala is the Porto Skala Hotel. The Porto Skala has sea views, a private beach and is situated close to the action. The Porto Skala also has crazy golf, entertainments and sports facilities and great food! Skala centre though has an abundance of restaurants and tavernas that serve food so good you'll never want to eat anywhere else again! In the evening, if you don't go for hotle entertainment, then Skala has lots of lively bars that make for a fantastic night out!
