Lixouri
Lixouri is the second largest town in Kefalonia, enclosed by mountains and built around a picturesque port. Lixouri is situated on a peninsula across from Kefalonia's Lassi and Argostoli. Although the second largest town of Kefalonia, Lixouri isn't a tourist hotspot, so you get some peace and quiet on your holiday!
With some of the best beaches in Greece - which is really saying something as Greece is known for its beaches – the beaches of Lixouri are large and the dark golden sand glitters under the sunlight. The sea is as clear as you can get and the watersports are fantastically fun and really cool you off too!
Aside from the beaches, holidays to Kefalonia's Lixouri offer hiking and sightseeing. The library in the restored townhouse is a real treat and like the rest of Greece, Lixouri has lots of churches and architecture to see!
The square of Lixouri is a great place to while away the days of your holiday, watching the ferry come in and soaking up some of the nicest views Greece has to offer. With cafes, shops, tavernas, restaurants, bars and even a disco, nights in Lixouri can get lively!
