Assos
Situated near to the capital of Kefalonia is the quiet village Assos. Assos is one of the prettiest villages in Kefalonia, situated on a peninsula that offers some fantastic views. Normally bypassed by tourists, Assos is a traditional village where the pace is slow and the locals are friendly!
Assos has a small sandy bay with a stretch of ocean that is nothing short of perfect – the water here is so clear that snorkelling is a must! Near to the beach is the small harbour of Assos, that as well as being picturesque, is surrounded by some simply superb tavernas that offer great food, great drinks and a friendly smile!
Assos has some lovely walks available through groves of olive trees. If you're feeling energetic then take a walk up to the 16th Century ruins of the Venetian castle or alternatively, walk around the village of Asssos with its cute houses and blossoms everywhere – a few days in Assos will make it feel like home!
