Sithonia Peninsula is next. Mount Athos is the third peninsula and the most mysterious place in Greece and Halkidiki – people are very very rarely allowed there and the place is very religious and full of monasteries – but boat trips are available around its coastline!

Two of the most popular holiday destinations in Halkidiki are Pefkohori and Hanioti. Both Pefkohori and Hanioti lie on the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki. Pefkohori means ‘pine village’ in Greek and Pefkohori is loved for its mix of seaside and countryside – Pefkohori’s beach of gold sand is backdropped by a wonderful forest of pines! Hanioti on the other hand has beaches of white sand – which is why Hanioti is one of the best beach holidays in Halkidiki! Hanioti has markets and gardens and proves to be popular time and again!
