San Agustin
On the south east coast of Gran Canaria near to Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles lies the often overlooked San Agustin. Due to the popularity of the other nearby resorts, San Agustin has remained a fairly quiet and relaxing resort. It hasn't been over-developed and swallowed with hotels and the beaches remain fairly uncrowded so for a resort that is close to the action but not consumed by it, San Agustin is the place!
San Agustin has a few hotels that all have good services and facilities and are generally more upmarket than some of the hotels in busier resorts. As is common with Gran Canaria, most of the hotels in San Agustin also offer fantastic views!
San Agustin is home to lots of classy restaurants and tapas bars where you are guaranteed a tasty meal and a top-notch atmosphere. San Agustin doesn't really go in for the crazy clubs of nearby Playa Del Ingles, but the bars of the resort are lively enough and offer a good night out.
San Agustin has lots of attractions to visit, the beach especially is unspoilt and full of soft sand and sparkling sea. Churches around the area are worth a visit too as the churches of Gran Canaria are beyond belief in their beauty and serenity. Not far from San Agustin there are opportunities for Go-Karting, the Aqua Park, Sioux City and the parrot-mad Palmitos Park with lots of interesting birds, animals and fish! If you're looking for a holiday that's laid back in beautiful surroundings with excitement in reach, then San Agustin is for you!
