On the southern coast of Gran Canaria is Maspalomas. Quieter than the nearby Playa Del Ingles, Maspalomas is a more upmarket resort that caters to beach lovers everywhere!
Maspalomas has perhaps the best beach in all of Gran Canaria. Not only does the beach have seductively soft golden sand, it also has a profusion of rolling sand dunes which are a protected habitat. A favourite of nudists, the Maspalomas sand dunes offer seclusion from the masses so you can sunbathe in peace! Camel rides are available over the sand dunes and it’s a great deal of fun to perch majestically on a camel as you explore all the dunes have to offer!
Aside from the beach which is the most popular part of the resort, Maspalomas offers a great deal in the way of attractions and activities. A promenade stretching from the dunes all the way to Playa Del Ingles is not only a scenic route to walk but contains lots of interesting shops, lively bars and tasty restaurants! Nearby there is also the Aqua Park and the Holiday World amusement park - a favourite for children, especially the grown-up kind!
Nightlife in Maspalomas is anything but boring with bars offering every kind of entertainment available. In May lots of deals are available for the infamous Gay Pride week, hosted in Maspalomas and enjoyed by everyone!
For the best place to stay, have a look at Club Maspalomas. Club Maspalomas is made up of single story bungalows set in lush tropical gardens and featuring jewel-like pools. Club Maspalomas is well-known for its many facilities including varied sports facilities such as squash and tennis courts. Club Maspalomas offers some great deals and really is one of the nicest spots to stay in. A shuttle bus is also available running from Club Maspalomas to the beach and the picturesque sand dunes. No matter what you want from a holiday, Maspalomas is sure to have the very best of it!
