Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is the third largest of the Canary Islands found between Tenerife and Fuerteventura. Gran Canaria is often referred to as a 'mini continent' in and of itself because of its unusual capacity for a range of different landscapes and climates. Each corner of the island differs from the other - the east tends to be comprised of beaches, the south is perpetually sunny, the west has a mountainous landscape and the north is cooler than the rest of the island. So whatever you want out of a holiday, you're sure to find it in Gran Canaria and for a surprisingly cheap price too!

Gran Canaria is most well-known for its abundance of beaches. Almost a quarter of the coastline is made up of beautiful beaches that could rival any in Spain! The beaches of Gran Canaria are renowned for their velvety smooth sand and their clean crystalline waters. Most of the beaches have excellent facilities, making them a cheap and cheerful place to take the whole family. The beaches of Puerto Rico are lovely, however, one of the best beaches to visit is the Maspalomas beach where you can stroll amongst the soft sand dunes and paddle in the turquoise waters to your hearts content!

Puerto Rico is perhaps the most popular resort in Gran Canaria and the most sought after for holidays. Puerto Rico can be found in the south of Gran Canaria and is built alongside a valley. Families in particular are fond of Puerto Rico because holidays there are cheap and enjoyable and the kids always have a great time. Puerto Rico has some absolute gems as beaches and the water around Puerto Rico is so clear it's practically a sin not to spend all day swimming like fish!
