Frequently Asked Questions
We hope this section helps you find the answer to your question.
“Can I fly if I am pregnant?”
Answer:
It is normally perfectly safe for expectant mothers to fly, although there are some restrictions. Individual airlines policies do differ, but in general you will have no problem flying up to and including your 27th week (remember this applies to your return date, not your outbound date).
From week 28, most airlines will require a certificate or letter from your doctor or midwife, confirming the term of your pregnancy and that you are fit to travel.
Once you have reached your 36th week, most airlines will not allow you to fly.
Pregnant mothers should, however, be aware flying whilst pregnant does carry some greater health risks to both mother and baby than the average passenger. For example, the risk of DVT is increased and therefore support socks should be worn.
