Situated on the east side of Crete, the supposed birthplace of Zeus, is the resort Vrouchas. Unspoilt and quiet with cute stone houses, Vrouchas is a village where you can really get away from the stresses of modern life!
Vrouchas is set amongst tall mountains, woods and hills, so as well as it being a perfect place to take holiday snaps of, you can enjoy some very pleasant strolls in some of the best countryside that Crete has to offer. If you hanker for something a bit less strenuous then there are plenty of beaches nearby where you can chill out on the sands and paddle in the waves!
Vrouchas is famous for its stone windmills that are over two hundred years old – so while you're here, go and take a look! The nearby villages of Plaka and Elounda offer a few bars and restaurants, but you'll love the friendly tavernas of Vrouchas!
