Situated on the western coast of Crete is the resort Maleme. A popular resort, Maleme is situated near to Crete's former capital Chania which can e reached by bus or taxi. Maleme is perfect for those holidays where you just want to spend all day relaxing on the beach!
The beach of Maleme is typical of the beaches of Crete and Greece - all soft golden sand and refreshing blue ocean with watersports on offer and the occasional beach bar. The beach of Maleme is especially lovely with fantastic views available as you lay out on the sand and relax!
Maleme is well known in Greece and Crete as an historic site. During World War Two and the Battle of Crete, German parachutists landed in Maleme. The resort has lots of monuments and it's interesting to spend a day or two wandering around and absorbing the history of Crete and Greece!
Maleme has a wide selection of comfortable bars, cafes and hotels and the restaurants are beyond fantastic - the fresh fish is to die for and the Greek meze has to be tried before you leave! You'll adore Maleme!
