Almeritha
Situated on the northern coast of Crete is the quiet fishing village Almeritha. There may be busier resorts nearby, but Almeritha is as quiet as they come. A perfect holiday resort for families and couples, Almeritha will leave you feeling relaxed and at peace with the world.
Almeritha has one of the nicest beaches in Crete with fine golden sand and shallow waters that are as clear as crystal. The beach has a windsurfing school and various other water sports available and people who come to Almeritha just love to spend all day baking on the beach!
Although you won't find any theme parks in Almeritha, you can still have fun! With bikes for hire so you can visit other villages, lots of shops full of tourist bric-a-brac and plenty of woods, hills and olive groves to wander around, Almeritha leans more towards quiet pursuits which is one of the charms of the place!
Almeritha doesn't have any clubs – so you can get a decent nights sleep in one of the few hotels of the area! The resort does have its fair share of tavernas and bars though where you're guaranteed a delicious meal and a lively evening drink!
