Akrotiri has some gorgeous beaches, in particular the Stavros beach which was once used as a movie set! The Akrotiri Beach Hotel has its own beach but there are so many beauties around the area, you'll have trouble choosing! Aside from the beaches, Akrotiri offers amazing hikes and walks through gorges and caves and flower-filled fields - you'll never get bored of this scenery!
Akrotiri is a fantastic holiday destination if you're into historic relics. The resort has tombs, caves full of interesting stalactites and stalagmites and ancient monasteries. One walk through a lush gorge leads to an ancient abandoned monastery, half hidden by overgrown trees - definitely not to be missed!
One of the nicest places in Akrotiri - well, in all of Crete too - is the Akrotiri Beach Hotel. The Akrotiri Beach Hotel has its own beach and its own tennis courts, so you don't have to contend with masses of people for a spot on the sand! The Akrotiri Beach Hotel also has bars where you can relax with an evening drink. Alternatively, Akrotiri has a few bars and some traditional tavernas where you can get fantastic traditional food!
