Alykes
On the north-eastern coast of Corfu is the resort of Alykes. The resort was named after the now unused salt lake. Alykes is a relatively small resort, but the place is full of things to do and the locals are extremely friendly as they are in Greece – you'll feel right at home here!
With one of the nicest beaches in Corfu and indeed, in all of Greece, tourists who live for beach holidays will adore Alykes. The beach is large so there's plenty of room for running about and games of volleyball! The clear waters are shallow and some of the best in Corfu and Greece, so kid's can swim in them safely and nearby shops sell buckets and spades!
Alykes has lots of activities available to keep you entertained – the many shops, bars and restaurants should be tried and a visit to the salt lake is definitely worth the time as is a boat trip to the wondrous Blue Caves. The beach of Alykes has a massive selection of water sports as well – water skiing, jet skiing, banana boats, diving – you won't get bored in Alykes!
