Sports and Leisure

Thanks to the mild weather, golfers can indulge in their favourite sport the whole year long on Gran Canaria. Six excellent golf courses are available to golfing guests, as well as special green fee discounts. Besides bridge, boccia and shuffleboard directly at the hotel, the neighbouring hotel Palm Beach offers a tennis court (for a charge) as well as many other leisure activities. Fitness and Health

In the Therapy and Wellness Centre, you will find a wide range of programmes, all under medical supervision, of course. Besides Thalassic and algae therapies, hydro-massage, mud bath and massage, Rasul and Cleopatra bath as well as Hamam, relax area, general and internal medical treatments, rejuvenation programmes and gastrointestinal medicine and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are available. Special beauty and health programmes for Him and Her, implantation remedies and physical therapy round out this extraordinary health and fitness offer. A fitness area outside is available for your relaxation and regeneration, as well as a separate gym room inside and a heated salt water pool with underwater massaging jets, a sauna and steam bath free-of-charge.

Accommodation

The 71 two-person rooms, furnished exclusively in the Spanish-Moorish style, all offer a view either of the dunes, the garden and the pool or of the backcountry and lovely mountains of Gran Canaria. Outside, all rooms offer guests either a balcony or a pleasant, private and protected patio with stylish teak-wood furniture. Inside, there is as either air-conditioning or individually controlled heating through hot-water radiators. Guests will also find satellite TV, a radio, CD and cassette player, 2 telephones, one with voice-mail, a no-fee safe, a mini-bar as well as a computer and Internet link in every room. The Colonial style bathrooms all have a bathtub and separate toilette, as well as in-floor heating on the ground floor. Bathrobes, bath slippers and blow dryer are, of course, also available in every bathroom. The hotel also has two double rooms with access for disabled guests. The 17 spacious Junior Suites offer guests generous living and sleeping spaces. With the amenities of other two-person rooms, the suites offer in addition, a separate shower and a bathtub with massaging jets.

Useful Information on Distances

Only around 200 metres (600 ft.) to the sandy beach and the dunes, 38 km (25 miles) to the Las Palmas airport, 5 km (3 miles) to Playa del Ingles, 60 km (38 miles) to the capital Las Palmas, public bus service available.

Renovation Works at the Hotel - Summer 2005

The hotel management is also planning some renovation works for the period between 13/06 and 08/07, when the Grand Hotel Residencia will be closed.
