A holiday in the Isla Margarita

The Isla de Margarita or Margarita island is located to the North of the country of Venezuela. Lying in the Caribbean sea, the island’s primary occupations include fishing and tourism. Coche and Cubagua are two other islands in the same state as that of Margarita. The island was discovered by the famous explorer Christopher Columbus.

Tourism being the island’s primary industry, the island keeps attracting thousand of tourists every day. Breathtaking scenery and night life are some of the factors that boost up the tourism in the region. With over 105 miles of coastline, the region is dotted with atleast 50 beaches, ranging from crowded ones to virgin ones. Playa El Agua is a famous beach with almost 4 kilometers of fine sand and is also known to be a famous windsurfing spot. Playa Puerto Cruz is another famous beach that is known for its beauty and services. Another place that is not to be missed is the La Restings Nature Reserve beach where a sandbar joins the two ends of the island.

Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic is an island nation in the island of Hispaniola and occupies the eastern side of the island. It is considered to be the second largest country in the Caribbean after Cuba. Dominican Republic has become the second largest tourist destination in the Caribbean after Puerto Rico.

The island country has lots to boast about – beautiful beaches with white sands and clear waters, arts, music and breath taking views. You should definitely check out the coral reefs and swim with the dolphins in the clear blue waters. Diving and snorkeling and other activities in the Dominican Republic that are not to be missed. If you are a nature lover, then you might wanna rent a jeep and explore the beautiful country side that has some breath taking views. The Dominican cuisine is predominantly a mix of Spanish,Taino and African cuisines and you should check out the Dominican speciality dishes like Arroz con dulce, Frio frio, dulce de leche etc. When you come to the Dominican Republic, get ready to experience the Caribbean life!

Pearl of the Caribbean – Cuba

Cuba which is also called the Pearl of the Caribbean is an island nation that includes many archipelagos and is considered to be the largest island nation in the Caribbean. The name Cuba is derived from the Taino language and roughly translates as “where fertile land is available” or “great place”.

The island can be literally called a tropical paradise as it consists of 750 kms of coastline with tropical vegetation and mountains. There  are a number of bays and beaches where one can indulge in a number of activities like sailing, snorkeling, surfing or even swimming with the dolphins. When at Cuba, do not forget to catch a glimpse of the famous historical monuments and architecture in Havana. Cuba is also known for the absence of anything that is poisonous to human, both plants or animals. Check out some of the famous Cuban dishes like Ropa vieja which includes black beans, yellow rice and plantains and the famous Cuban cigar too (if you smoke!)

Stunning Central America – Costa Rica

Christopher Columbus was the first person to name the place Costa Rica which also means the Rich Coast. No one really knows why he named it so, maybe its because of the rich natural beauty of the place. Costa Rica is a country in Central America and is considered to be one of the most peaceful countries in Central America. The country’s army was abolished in 1948 and it is one of the countries without an army.

If you want a real tropical adventure in Central America, the Costa Rica is the place for you. A country known for its beautiful beaches and a beautiful climate, Costa Rica has a number of lovely places to visit for people of all ages. National parks, tropical beaches and a number of extinct volcanoes along with a number of adventure and water sports makes it a holidayer’s paradise. So, come and get ready to experience Central America in all of her beauty.

Land of the Amazon – Brazil

Are you planning to make your trip to Latin America? Well, then most of your destinations will be in Brazil, the continent’s biggest country. Almost the entire Amazon forest is in the heart of the country and the country has a varied vegetation and climate owing to its huge size. There are lots of places to visit in Brazil and when you plan to visit the place, make sure you take a long vacation!

Rio de Janiero, one of the most romantic cities in the world is home to a world wonder, the statue of Christ the Redeemer on top of a mountain. This place also has a name for the carnival that is organised here every year. You might wanna check it out sometime. Salvador, is another great place to visit, traces back Brazil’s history to the colonial times. Some of the famous musicians in Brazil are from Salvador. The Amazon might be the biggest river running through the country but it is more than just a river, it consists of the intese tropical forests and the entire region surrounding the river. Do not forget the Iguazu falls that lies on the Brazilian -Argentina border. With approximately 275  drops, and at 2.7 kilometeres long, it is a magnificant sight to see the waterfalls from the Brazilian side.
