Egypt is one of the world’s most iconic travel destinations. The land of the Pyramids, the mysterious Sphynx, and the beautiful Nile culture with all its luxurious attractions lies far to the south of the United Kingdom (in the same time zone, in fact) on the Mediterranean. Are you ready to fly down south to the ancient land of the winter sun? At 33 degrees north, nature has been kind to Egypt. The country is one of the few that get the most sunshine in the winter, and it is not uncommon to enjoy perfectly sunny (and warm) winters while lazing on the Red Sea Coast.
Sharm El Sheikh beckons in the winter months as its warm waters make you forget all your worries. Travel is economical and accomodation is quite affordable. Enjoy diving in the warm Red Sea or simply laze around on the stunning east coast beaches. Take a cruise on the Nile and stop at Luxor to marvel at the ancient temple complex at Karnak. Egypt has something for everyone, and is well worth visiting this winter.

When we think of Egypt, what comes to our mind is the majestic Sphinx and the towering pyramids. The pyramids of Egypt are some of the best works of art by mankind and I would say it should be one in the list of 50 places you should visit before you die! There are a number of pyramids in Egypt, but the Giza pyramid complex that lies on the outskirts of Cairo is the most famous one and reaching there is not at all a problem owing to its proximity to the capital city of Egypt.
The Giza pyramids are among some of the largest structures ever to be built by mankind and consists of three large pyramids and six smaller ones. The pyramid complex along with the majestic sculpture of the Sphinx lies in the Giza plateau in the desert. I was dumbstruck when I first saw the towering pyramids especially the Great Pyramid of Giza which is the one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. Do not miss out to capture the mesmerizing beauty of the pyramids when the sun sets in the desert!
