Rotterdam is a city that is situated in western region of The Netherlands. The municipality is the second largest in the Netherlands only after Amsterdam and has the largest port in Europe and  was infact the world’s busiest port till the year 2004. The city derives its name from the dam that was built across the Rotte river. Rotterdam is also known as a city of architecture and is best known for the twentieth century buildings as most of its buildings were destroyed in the Rotterdam Blitz in 1940.

Rotterdam is known for its museums and the most famous being the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen which was founded in 1849 and houses a number of masterpieces by prominent artists. The Kunsthal, Nederlands Fotomuseum, Maritime Museum, Het Schielandshuis and the Museum De Dubbelde Palmboom are other museums that have a number of exhibits. The Erasmus statue is a beautiful bronze statue that was hand sculpted by the renowned sculptor Keijser. The sight of the beautiful windmills in Rotterdam is not to be missed!

The capital of the Kingdom of Netherlands, Amsterdam is a beautiful city that has some impressive architecture and lovely canals. The city has great for shopping and has something for everybody. Be it partying, or history or relaxation! Though it is the largest city and the cultural center of the Netherlands, it is not the capital city. The city’s history dates back to the 13 century when a bridge was constructed across the river Amstel. Amsterdam is also though to have derived its name from the river’s name.

Amsterdam is one of the most historic cities in Europe and has over 7000 historic buildings. The oldest parts of the city are in Warmoesstraat and Zeedijk and has 2  wooden house that were built in medieval times and still stands elegantly till date. There are also a number of churches, synagogues and museums that needs to be checked out in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is known for its coffee shops that are rather famous for cannabis than coffee!

Lying in the south Caribbean seas is the island of Aruba, a famous tourist destination in the Caribbean. Aruba is a 21 miles long island that comes under the Kingdom of Netherlands. The western and southern coasts of the island are known for its numerous sandy beaches. Holidayers at the island have a number of things to do ranging from diving to para gliding. You can also sail in the seas or take a ride in small boats into the deep blue sea. And if you really aren’t into adventure sports or anything, then you can very well go for snorkeling or watching the numerous coral reefs and colorful fishes.

You can very well go for shopping in the eveings in the beautiful island town of Aruba where you get almost everything from handicrafts or pottery to precious items like jewelry or perfumes. The island has a tropical marine climate with temperatures topping at 28  C and with moderate precipitation. If you are looking for a warm place to holiday in with lots of beaches, then this is the place for you.
