Sitting on Corfu’s Northern coast, Sidari has become something of a touristy hotspot in recent years. This is largely thanks to its sandy beaches hidden away in cosy little coves of their own. Dust winds have carved the mountains that cover them into spectacular shapes too, with layers of yellow rock capped off with grassy knolls. There’s nothing like laying back in whirlpool warm sea with the feeling that you’re (almost) in a private beach made specially for you!
After a hard day’s sunbathing you have quite a few choices for how to spend your evenings too. You could grab a quick bite to the eat in the many cheap and cheerful pizza places then spend the night partying away in the lively clubs and bars. For boogieing, Ceasar’s is the biggest and best, but E-Metro Bar also pulls in the crowds, with pumping music till two in the morning.
For something more sedate, take a stroll around the main street of Sidari and stop by at the many quality restaurants there. Our top tip for something tasty would have to be Olympic. This traditional taverna is incredibly popular with the locals – a sure sign of great Greek food.
Take a trip to Sidari with Sunmaster and you’ll be amazed by how much you can save. After all, a few more quid in your pocket will give you more to spend on cocktails when you’re out there!

Gouvia, a lovely family resort is located near the Greek city of Corfu. Gouvia is known for its 3 beautiful beaches that are completely safe for swimming and are known for the water sports here. The beach is safe even if you have kids in the vacation and you could hire boats in the sides of the beaches. There are a number of places of interest in and around Gouvia and one such place is the old Venetian shipyard which lies to the south of the Gouvian beach. The shipyard has a number of stone arches and is reminiscent of the Venetian architecture.
Easily accessible by road from the city of Corfu, Gouvia is pretty close to a number of other resorts like Ipsos and Dassia. Though the resort is not that famous for water sports, a number of boat operators offer services like speed boat rides and jet skis and you are sure to have a lot of fun. Gouvia also has a number of taverns and bars and you will definitely have a great holiday there.

A lovely village on the north eastern coast of Corfu is what comes to my mind when I hear the name Kassiopi. Kassiopi is a peaceful beach resort in the Kassopaia municipality and has now evolved into a town after it became a tourist destination. The town was believed to have been founded in the 3rd century BC by the King of Epirus. The Romans later conquered the town followed by the Byzantines and the Ottoman Turks. Remains of the Byzantine castle can be still found here around the headland.
Like all resort towns, Kassiopi’s beaches are beautiful and are perfect for sun bathing. You could also grab a beer from one of the shops in the water front take a stroll down the beach. With not much places of interest other than the ruins of the Byzantine castle, Kassiopi is all about the beach and is the perfect destination for people looking for a break.

The capital of the Northernmost island of Corfu, the Corfu city is located to the Northwestern part of the island. The city has long remained an important tourist attraction and has attracted tourists from around the world. The old town of Corfu was declared a UNESCO Heritage site owing to the historical importance of the town. The city is also called Kastropolis, mainly due to the three castles that stand out majestically here.
The town literally takes you back in time when you walk along the cobbled street lined with houses built in the Venetian style. There are also a few houses built in the Neoclassical style in the 18th and 19th century. Corfu with its long tradition in fine arts is also considered as a city of arts! The palace built by Sir Thomas Maitland is a fine piece of architecture built in white Maltese stone. The Pompeian styled Achilleion palace built for the Empress of Austria and several Orthodox Greek cathedrals are some other places that you should check out!

Corfu, is the second largest of the Ionian islands and is located in the Ionian sea to the western side of Greece. The island is perhaps the only one that has deep roots into Greek mythology. It was related to the Greek god of the seas,Poseidon and Asopos, an important river in the mainland. The capital city of Corfu has three castles and hence the city is referred to as Kastropolis or Castle city.
Corfu is known for its beaches with clear waters and white sands and are also known for the various water sports. Scuba diving and snorkeling are some of the tourists most favorite sports. Corfu is also known for its beautiful countryside with olive groves and wineyards. And if you are someone with a flair for history, then the Antivouniotissa Byzantine Museum is worth visiting as it features some of the rarest Byzantine art. Another place to visit in Corfu is the town of Sidari, which is known for its beaches and the night life. Visiting Corfu once will always make you want more of a Greek holiday!
