Andalucia is a region in the southernmost region of Spain which is divided into a number of provinces. The region has the Sierra Nevada mountain range and a number of ancient towns and beautiful beaches. The region also has the southernmost ski resort in the European continent. If you visit Spain, this is one region that has to be visited. The region was once home to Moorish rulers and this is evident from a number of ancient buildings that one will find here.

The region is very popular among tourists around the world and remains a top tourist destination in Spain. As a result of this, a number of resorts have mushroomed in most of the coastal towns in the region. The region is also popular among tourists mainly due to the diversity in the locations in here. You should definitely check out the beautiful spa village of Alhama de Granada and spa lovers will definitely love the place!

Historic Seville

Named as the cultural and artistic capital of Southern Spain, Seville is the capital of Andalucia and the province of Seville. It is the fourth largest city in Spain and has so much to offer for the regular tourist. Seville is known to have been discovered by Hercules however, the city is known to have been inhabited for more than 2000 years. With a rich history that traces back to more than 2000 years, the region has a number of museums and monuments and is a heaven for any history lover.

The cathedral in Seville is considered to be the largest cathedral in the world ( in terms of volume). It was constructed between 1401-1519 and is a perfect example of the beautiful Gothic architecture. The Plaza de EspaƱa that was built in 1929 stands as a good example for the Regionalist architecture. The Museum of Fine arts of Seville and the Andalusian Contemporary art Center are some of the finest museums in the city and has a number of masterworks by famous artists. With a warm Mediterranean climate, Seville is the perfect idea of a holiday with some historic touch in it!

Andalucia is the second largest and the most populous of the autonomous communities in Spain. Andalucia is located down to the South and has the Strait of Gibraltar to its southernmost tip. If you are planning on a Spanish holiday,you really shouldn’t miss out to catch the splendor of the Andalucian region. The Andalucian region is known for its beaches, and is thronged by tourists from all over Europe while the interior regions are largely untouched.

If the beautiful countryside and valleys of flowers plants appeals to you as the destination for an ideal low cost holiday, then Andalucia is just the place for you. Places like the El Gastor village is set in the mountainous countryside and has some breathtaking views of the countryside. The town of Ronda has something for history lovers and you might wanna check out the Roman ruins in here.
