
Sant Feliu de Guixols is a municipality in Baix Emporda and is located in the Catalonian region of Spain. Located on the beautiful Costa Brava, the region is known to be an important tourist center and an important port. The town can be accessed by road from Tossa de Mar and you’ll have a great time driving through the scenic road that traverses through cliffs. The town was named in memory of the martyred saint, Sant Feliu.
The town is all about historic monuments and history enthusiasts who have a flair for medieval history will really have a great time here. The Sant Feliu de Guíxols monastery is the most impressive piece of medieval architecture and it was first referenced around the 9st century. Other places of interest around the town that need to be visited are the Plaça del Mercat, Pedralta and a number of historic homes that were constructed in the mid 1800’s.

Located in the Girona province of the Catalonian region of Spain, Peralada is a small medieval town that still has the magic of the medieval times to this date. Figueres is the nearest city to the town and its only a few minutes’ drive from the French border. Tourism is the main industry of the town and wine-making is another industry that contributes to the economy of the region.
Peralada is also known for its famous golf course and the casino. The monastery of Sant Doménec de Peralada which was constructed sometime in the 112th century has a number of artistic renderings of animals and other Biblical pictures on columns. The Castel de Peralada, a medieval castle is considered the landmark of the town and has a beautiful park with a number of old trees. To the sides of the castle are a number of Gothic buildings stand out beautifully.

Alhaurin El Grande is a town located in the Malaga province of the Andalucian region in Spain. Alhaurin El Grandeis known to be one of the most picturesque villages in the Guadalhorce valley and is about an hour drive from the provincial capital of Malaga. The region is known to have been inhabited from the Neolithic age. The region was ruled by the Iberians, Romans and finally the Moors who gave the place its name. They named it Alhaurin which translates as the Garden of Allah.
The town is also pretty near the cities of Fuengirola and Mijas and getting to the lovely beaches of these places is a few minutes’ drive from here. Alhaurin also offers some fantastic views of the Malaga valley and any nature lover would definitely love the place. The 12th century Moorish Arcos de Cobertizo and the three Roman columns at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento are some of the reminders of the history of the beautiful town.

Lying on the banks of the Ter river in the Spanish Catalonian region is the historic town of Torroella de Montgri. The town was actually a Royal Port during the medieval times and still retains its splendor of a medieval port town. The town is located about 22 kilometers from the city of Girona and getting here by road is pretty easy. The town is surrounded by the Montgri Massif in the Northern side and located on the top of the mountain is the famous Montgri castle.
The Montgri castle is perhaps the most important attraction in the town and it was constructed sometime in the 13th century. The castle was supposedly built by the counts of Barcelona to control the moves of the counts of Empuries. The castle stands towering on top of the mountain and was constructed on line of other Middle Eastern fortresses that were constructed during the Crusades. This place is a must visit if you have a flair for history!

A lovely resort in the Catalonian region of Spain, Santa Susana is located on the Costa Maresme which is a part of the Spain’s famous Costa Brava. Santa Susana is known to be a popular tourist destination among European travelers since the 1970’s as it packs all the fun and entertainment of a holiday resort and the beauty of a traditional town. The Castillo de Palafolls, a walled medieval town was the administrative center of Santa Susana in the medieval times.
The old town of Santa Susana hasn’t lost the charm and it is a real experience to walk through the cobbled streets of the town that are flanked on both sides by medieval buildings. There are a number of monuments and other ancient buildings that you can check out. The scene at the beach front is that of a typical coastal resort town. If you plan visiting the town, then August is the best month to visit the place as it is the time when it will be hosting the annual feast for the patron saint of the town, Santa Susanna and the town will be the most colorful then.

Estepona is located in Southern Spain, in the picturesque Costa de Sol. Estepona is particularly noted for its beaches and is surrounded by the sea and the picturesque Sierra Bermeja mountains. This location of the town in the midst of mountains gives it a really beautiful look and it is just another reason for the place to be a popular tourist destination. This location of the town has made it an almost sunny destination throughout the year unlike other tourist destinations along the Mediterranean coast. The Gibraltar Airport which is located about 45 kilometers away is the nearest airport to the town.
Estepona has a number of beaches with some of them even stretching for about 21 kilometers. However, the Cristo beach that is about a 2 minute walk from the Estepona port is known for its small cove that has a few bars and lifeguards. The Selwo Safari Park that houses a number of animals is a must visit especially if you have kids in the tour.

A town and a municipality in the beautiful Costa de Sol, Mijas has a number of regions including Mijas Pueblo, Mijas costa and La Cala de Mijas. Mijas Pueblo consists of a typical Andalucian village that is located in the mountainous region and is worth a visit if you really want to know how an Andalucian village looks. The village overlooks the Mediterranean sea and you can have spectacular views of the African coastline and Gibraltar. The town was first named Tamisa in the year 600 and was later called Mixa and later Mijas.
Mijas is particularly known for its golf courses and long beaches that stretch for many kilometers. Mijas Costa is the residential and the commercial center of town and is located adjacent to the town of Fuengirola. When you come to Mijas, make sure you do not miss to check out Cruzcampo, which is a traditional Spanish beer and the various Mediterranean delicacies of the region.

Torremolinos is located in the Costa del Sol or the Sunshine coast with the Mijas mountains in the backdrop. The city is pretty much close to the city of Malaga and the Malaga airport is one of the ways you can get into the city. You could also ride from the city of Fuengirola with is to the South of Torrremolinos. Historic evidence obtained from the region suggests that the region was inhabited from over 150,000 years. The city has seen several civilizations like the Phoenicians, Roman and Arabs and these civilizations have left a long lasting impact on the city.
The city has a number of interesting places like the Crocodile Park and a number of monuments like the Torre de Pimental and the Casa de los Navaja. The city is also known for its famous dolphin watching tours and water skiing facilities. Other activities that one can indulge in when here are wind surfing and kite surfing.

La Pineda is located on the golden coast, also known as the Costa Dorado and is the perfect holiday destination for families. It is known to be one of the most peaceful seaside resorts in Costa Dorado and is less noisy than resort like Salou or Cambrils. The beaches are one of the most important attractions and so are the beautiful landscapes that dot the sea side with colorful flowers and trees.
The resort town has a beautiful promenade along the beach that is flanked by palm trees. You can also find a number of bars and other shops along the coast and it is one of the most popular places in the resort town. You could also grab a beer and relax in a sun bed in the sands of the beaches. If you have kids in your tour, then you shouldn’t miss to check out the Aqualpolis Water park which has a number of attractions.

Nerja is a coastal town in the Malaga province and is located at about 50 kilometers from the city of Malaga in the Costa del Sol. The town is known for not losing its charm due to the increased tourist activity in the region unlike other resort towns in the Costa del Sol. The town is flanked by the Sierra Almijara mountains and is also known for the Nerja caves. Malaga is the nearest airport and port with services to many parts of Europe and some parts of Africa too.
The town has a number of attractions in the form of historic monuments and natural beauty. The El Slavador church near the Balcon de Europa is known for its Baroque styled church that dates back to the 17th century. The Balcon de Europa or the Balcony of Europe is a promenade that faces the rocky coast of the town and was constructed in the place of a 9th century castle. It offers some beautiful views of the coast and is a must visit. There are also a number for beaches in the town and the Playa Burriana is the most famous of them all.
