Great beach: The local beach Playa de Raco is a real delight, and rather unlike many other beaches on the Costa Blanca, it has a spectacular view of nearby rocky mountains.
Peaceful holidays: On the northern side of Costa Blanca, Albir holidays are much quieter than holidays in Benidorm and Alicante. This makes the town an ideal resting place as the streets are never too busy or manic.
Beaches in Albir
Playa de Raco: The beach in Albir is a half-kilometre long stretch of small white pebbles. Of course, the biggest benefit of pebbles is that you don’t have to worry about sand getting everywhere! Unusually for Costa Blanca holidays, this beach bucks the trend of being open, flat and expansive. It’s slightly narrower, but has wonderful views of the mountainous scenery. The beach also accommodates lots of water sports activities including windsurfing, parasailing and kayaking.
Restaurants in Albir
Sarita: An excellent Indian restaurant which prides itself on its cleanliness and attentiveness of service. All classic dishes are available here, such as Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka and Vegetable Biryani.
Biblos: A fairly touristy restaurant which serves a large variety of meals so you’re certain to find something you like. Mains include both fish and meat dishes from Spaghetti Bolognese to fresh grilled salmon. Their menu of the day options always represent great value too - perfect for cheap holidays to Albir.
Shopping in Albir
El Cisne Market: Held every Saturday and Sunday, this open-air market is more unofficial in style than the ones you may be used to visiting. Many of the stalls have a very personal unique touch, with traders selling original hand-made prices, and of course, bartering is encouraged!
